JITTI JUMNIANWAI
Long before he was renowned as “Rollerbot” for his robot character, Jitti Jumnianwai was a 3D modeller in the animation industry. Regardless of the fact that he had the opportunity to work with a variety of characters and designs, he felt that his creativity was constrained due to a lot of conditions at the time. As a result, when he discovered the life of an artist in a Japanese documentary called “Travelling with Yoshitome Nara”, he was certain that it was what he wanted to pursue with his life. Since then, he made a promise to himself that he would become an artist and create art for a living.
With a background in art and a Fine Arts degree from Chiang Mai University, Jitti’s artistic style has gone through several stages of experimentation in various forms and mediums. His early works were inspired by his childhood memories of happiness, where he was influenced by the cultures of toys and cartoons, as evident in his abstract-like hand-drawn overlapping toys in his early works. Later in his artistic journey, he developed a more profound meaning in his art as he blended life experiences and life lessons of hope and uncertainty into it.
